Lent - Triduum - Easter 2010

Lent is the forty day period from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday. While Easter celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, Lent is a time of preparation for Holy Week (or the Passion Week for Catholics worshiping in the new rite of the Mass). Holy Week recalls the events preceding and during the crucifixion, which occurred in Jerusalem in the Roman province of Judea, circa AD 29.

Lent days are marked by abstinence, both from foods and festivities, and by other acts of penance. The three practices Christians take up with renewed vigor during Lent are prayer (jutice towards God), fasting (justice towards self), and almsgiving (justice towards neighbor).

Doing Our Part for Haiti

We would like to thank everyone who donated money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. ASC collected and donated a grand total of $320. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Haitian victims and their families.

St. Vincent de Paul Village

On Friday, December 4th, Mr. Stutz (Principal), Ms. Islas (teacher) and several students from St. Charles Catholic School delivered all the donated socks collected by the students, faculty and staff to St. Vincent de Paul Village.

On behalf of St. Charles Catholic School we would like to thank you for being so generous with those in need.
