The St. Charles Advocates, consisting of the 7th grade class, along with Mr. Blair, and the support of the PTG, presented “Dance for a Chance, 2010.” This event took place Saturday, February 27th, from 5:00-9:00 pm, in the St. Charles Parish Center. There was a live DJ playing music intermixed with speeches and performances put on 7th graders.
This event was put together for a chance to make our world a better place! Specifically, awareness was raised for the need of the homeless within our own city, and the health and education of the poor children in Tanzania, East Africa. We joined as one community of faith, in prayer and in strength, to make a difference. This is a wonderful opportunity for reflection and prayer during Lent.
For this event rice bowls and water were served (fasting) at no cost donated by the PTG. And, as a gesture of compassion and action, canned food, blankets, sleeping bags, and monetary donations were collected (almsgiving).
Together we will change the world.
